Webinar on Marine Debris and Art
Elizabeth Roberts, marine debris artist on Oregon’s south coast, will join Jesse Jones, CoastWatch volunteer coordinator, for a discussion of marine debris and how it can be translated into art on Wednesday, May 13, 6-7 p.m.
Roberts will share her experiences working on large-scale marine debris removal projects in the Gulf of Alaska, collecting data on plastic pollution in the Gulf of Maine, and building sculptures for the Washed Ashore Project in Bandon and for Bømlo Kunstlag in Norway. She has been on the front lines of this issue for the past seven years and continues to make it her mission to educate the public and inspire awareness through her art.
Join us for an evening of talking trash. Everyone is welcome to join the webinar and learn about marine debris and responding to it artistically. To register, contact Jesse Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be sent an invitation to join the webinar via Zoom. You don’t need to have a Zoom account of your own.
